Sheriff's deputies arrest woman for drugs after traffic stop

CLAY COUNTY, AR (KAIT) - Clay County Sheriff's deputies arrested a woman for drug possession after a traffic stop Monday night.

Sheriff Terry Miller reports deputies got a call about a silver Buick that possibly had drugs inside.

Deputies stopped the car south of Piggott along Highway 139, according to a press release.

Police stated the driver Alicia Gibbs, 30, of Jonesboro gave consent for them to search her car.

The release stated officers located a glass pipe "used to smoke methamphetamine" inside Gibbs' car.

Gibbs admitted she had meth on her and turned the drugs over to police, according to the release.

Police also found prescription drugs in the car.

Gibbs was arrested on possession of a controlled substance without a prescription, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of a controlled substance methamphetamine.

Her bond is set at $20,000.
