Sheriff's department adds "In God We Trust" to patrol units

RANDOLPH COUNTY, AR (KAIT) - Another Region 8 law enforcement agency has added "In God We Trust" decals to their vehicles.

Randolph County Sheriff Gary Tribble told Region 8 News that the decals were recently donated by area citizens and added to their vehicles.

"All of my personnel support it and said they were proud to have it on their patrol unit," Sheriff Tribble said.

Sheriff Tribble said having the nation's motto on patrol units holds a special meaning.

"The United States Treasury Department who are represented, by and for the people, choose to have 'In God We Trust' on our nation's currency," Sheriff Tribble said. "We have chosen to believe enough that we put it on our nation's currency. I choose, like the people, to put it on our patrol units. It's our national motto and the basis or root of the country."

Other agencies to make the move this year include Cave City, Walnut Ridge, Corning, Cross County and Craighead County.
