TRUMANN, AR (KAIT) - Storms Saturday morning caused flooding for some Region 8 communities.
Several streets in Trumann were covered with water, causing some cars to take a different route.
Neighborhoods near the Trumann Farmer's Market saw flooding in their yards and on the roads.
The neighbors told Region 8 News this area is prone to flooding when several inches of rain fall.
"Yeah we are kind of in a low valley here in Trumann, Arkansas and it floods a lot in the county here," Carl Cook said.
One neighbor said the city put in a drainage ditch in the area to help with flooding few years ago.
"Before they dug this ditch just a couple of years ago I had water all the way up to my mailbox," Wayne Cook said." So when it comes a big flood this ditch right here has saved my house and everything."
Neighbors said it can take two or three days for the rain waters to go down.
