TV stolen while woman locked herself in bathroom

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) -

A Jonesboro woman locked herself in the bathroom after she woke up Saturday morning to someone banging on her door.

Jonesboro police responded to Wolf Creek Apartments, located in the 500-block of Caraway Road, early Saturday morning.

The victim’s door appeared to be forced open.

While police cleared the apartment they noticed two doors inside were locked.

According to the police report, the 21-year-old girl who called 911 was in one of the locked rooms.

Police found her crying and “she appeared visibly upset and scared,” the report stated.

The woman told police she heard banging on the door then loud footsteps throughout the apartment and said the unknown suspect twisted the handle to her room.

The woman told police a flat screen TV was missing from the living room.

Police found valuable items in another room with a kicked in door that “would have usually been stolen during a theft,” the report stated.

The property manager told police that he would check the video of the entrance for any vehicles coming and going during that time.

There are no suspects at this time.
