LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - The Pope County Sheriff's office says a 31-year-old man has died in a storm-related drowning.
The man's name was not released Monday afternoon. A sheriff's office press release says deputies located a vehicle the man had been driving on a low water bridge after being reported missing.
Rescue workers located the man's body in the creek downstream from where his vehicle was found.
The Arkansas Department of Emergency Management has received reports from at least four counties where more than a dozen people were rescued in swift water operations from houses, boats and cars, a spokeswoman said.
The National Weather Service is surveying damage in southern Arkansas after severe storms hit the state on Sunday. Heavy rainfall is causing major flooding in many areas.
