JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - Flood waters and closed roads are now affecting mail delivery from the United States Postal Service.
Postmaster Rob Driskell told Region 8 News this situation is a minor bump in the road but they've dealt with worse.
"Yesterday (Monday) was the first day we experienced any problems due to the rain and flooded roads," Driskell said. "We currently service over 35,000 addresses here in Jonesboro and we had less than 100 that we weren't able to get to yesterday."
Driskell said that mail was kept on Monday to be delivered again Tuesday.
"If there is a customer that waiting for something and we're unable to get to them, they can come down here and we can give it to them that afternoon or the next morning they can pick it up," Driskell said. "If it's something that's going to be an extended period of time, we'll make arrangements with the customers to get their mail to them another way."
