POCAHONTAS, AR (KAIT) -

The Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department was on the scene of a single vehicle crash on the Highway 67 Bridge over the Black River in Pocahontas. Traffic was reopened to both lanes shortly after 4:30 p.m.

Northbound traffic was at a near standstill and backed up to Hwy 304, according to IDriveArkansas.com

According to police, a truck loaded with some type of building struck the bridge earlier Tuesday afternoon when the building was too tall to go under the bridge. Traffic was halted while emergency crews worked the crash.

No injuries were reported.

Dispatchers told Region 8 News that the crash took place on the northern half of the bridge. Police rerouted traffic to the southern half of the bridge until the bridge was inspected. However, initial reports were that there is no structural damage to the bridge.
