PEMISCOT COUNTY, MO (KAIT) - Due to high water, one sheriff's office in southeast Missouri is patrolling the levee system.
According to Pemiscot County Sheriff Tommy Greenwell, no one is allowed to be on the levee or on the sides. Anyone who violates the order will be asked to leave until they talk to the Levee District.
Greenwell said the request came after the latest forecast for the Mississippi River, which is flooding some areas.
Greenwell said the request is only a precaution and not because there are any problems.
