Local animal rescue group in urgent need of donations

TRUMANN, AR (KAIT) -

The Trumann Arkansas Pet Savers group needs funding to save the lives of several dogs they recently rescued.

The 12 dogs rescued have heartworms, some at advanced stage.

The problem is each dog requires treatment that cost at least $200 and funding is extremely low.

They have 4 group members who pay as much as they can out of pocket but cannot financially do much more.

Britt Austin is one of the dedicated members and she urges people to donate because without money they cannot afford the cost of treatment.

“Without the funding, we can’t continue,” Austin said. “Rescue is a non-profit organization. If we don't make money, the dogs die. We don't have the money. That’s the only way we can save them.”

Austin said anyone who wants to donate can do so at the Harrisburg Veterinary Clinic, 1103 North Illinois St., or by emailing the group's PayPal account at tapsrescue@yahoo.com
