Batesville teens use New Year's Eve Party to honor friends

BATESVILLE, AR (KAIT) -

Batesville teens rang in the New Year while honoring two beloved friends that passed away in October.

Will Olson and Camdon Osborn were killed in a one-vehicle wreck that also injured four others.

Three Batesville girls, Grace Mourer, Molly Mourer, and Hannah Owens, decided to organize a New Year’s Eve party that would not only give Batesville teens a safe place to celebrate the New Year, but also give them a place to remember Olson and Osborn.

The party was held at Josie’s and cost $10 to attend. There was an unlimited buffet and non-alcoholic drinks for $5.

Several adult chaperons were at the venue along with some police officers.

The night included entertainment, games and a firework display at the end.

Grace Mourer told Region 8 News the event raised around $2,000, which will be donated to both Olson and Osborn scholarship funds.
