Three arrested on drug trafficking charges in Lawrence County

LAWRENCE COUNTY, AR (KAIT) -

A joint investigation by four law enforcement agencies resulted in the arrests of three people in Lawrence County on drug trafficking charges.

Officers and agents with the Third Judicial Drug Task Force, Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office, Walnut Ridge Police Department and Arkansas State Police arrested three suspects for delivery of a controlled substance on Monday.

Third Judicial District Prosecuting Attorney Henry Boyce identified the suspects and the charges they face as:

  • Michael Wayne Cason, 62, was arrested for delivery of a controlled substance Schedule II-hydrocodone, a Class C felony; proximity to certain facilities, a Class C felony enhancement.
  • William “Lee” Hand, 47, was arrested for two counts of delivery of a controlled substance Schedule II-methamphetamine, a Class B felony and a Class C felony; and two counts of proximity to certain facilities, both Class C felony enhancements.
  • Kenneth Gale Willfond, 52, was arrested for four counts delivery of a controlled substance Schedule II-methamphetamine, which included three Class B felonies and a Class C felony; and delivery of a controlled substance Schedule VI-marijuana, a Class D felony.

All three suspects are being held in the Lawrence County Jail awaiting bond.

Boyce said the investigations are continuing.
