JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - The Jonesboro City Council passed the city's 2016 operating budget Tuesday night during their first council meeting of the new year.
However, the budget will likely be amended in the coming weeks.
According to Jonesboro Mayor Harold Perrin, once the Salary and Longevity Committee completes their recommendation, they will amend the budget to include longevity pay and increase in salaries.
Mayor Perrin said it will likely take place at the next regularly scheduled council meeting on January 19.
