19-year-old woman killed in morning collision

SEARCY, AR (KAIT) -

A 19-year-old Region 8 woman died Wednesday when her scooter and a trailer-truck collided.

The crash happened at 6:56 a.m. at the intersection of U.S. Highway 67-B and Main Street in Searcy.

Arkansas State Police stated a 2012 Kenworth was traveling northbound when a Taotao scooter driven by Georgeanna N. Childers, 19, of Searcy pulled out of McDonald’s.

The truck, according to the crash report, was coming to a stop at the intersection but Childers failed to yield and the two vehicles collided.

Childers was taken to Unity Health-White County Medical Center in Searcy where she died.

According to the crash report, the road conditions were dry and the weather was clear.
