JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) -

Jonesboro police have arrested three people in connection to a shooting investigation early Thursday morning.

According to a Jonesboro police report, Jayquan Meredith, Justin Barber and Chassity Mitchell face several drug charges. Meredith is also charged with firing a gun at another man at a home in the 800 block of Madison.

Jonesboro police were called to Madison after they heard a person had been shot. The investigation revealed the victim sustained an injury to his left shoulder after he fell into a glass window when someone shot at him.

The victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

The report stated that Barber knocked on the door to the victim’s home. When the victim came to the door, another male, later identified as Meredith, fired two shots from the road.

The victim “fell into the window at the front of the house,” the report stated.

The victim told police that Barber lived in the 1200 block of Magnolia.

Officers then went to the residence on Magnolia. When officers arrived, Barber answered the door. He stated he lived at the residence and was on probation.

Officers then checked to see if any of the suspects had warrants before performing a probation search.

Meredith, who was also in the home, was found to have 17 warrants out of Jonesboro. He was taken into custody for questioning. Mitchell was also inside the home.

During the search, officers found plastic bags of meth ice, hydrocodone pills, marijuana, Xanax and other drug paraphernalia inside the home.

During an interview with police, Barber said Meredith had been having problems with the victim. Barber later told officers he thought Meredith toss the gun in the backyard.

Officers found a Ruger 9mm handgun in the backyard.

Meredith faces charges of aggravated assault, possession of a firearm by certain person, resisting arrest and theft by receiving. Barber and Mitchell were both charged with possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia.
