Police: Suspected car thief arrested in Las Vegas

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas. Unless you get arrested there.

That's the case for a man who was arrested in Las Vegas on a felony bench warrant out of Jonesboro for allegedly stealing a Jeep.

According to the Jonesboro Police Department, Christopher Silvey and an accomplice stole a 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee from Kars Plus in Jonesboro last month. The report states Silvey and his female accomplice, who has yet to be identified, took the Jeep for a test drive and never brought it back. The vehicle was valued at $5000. It has yet to be found.

Silvey was identified from surveillance video. A bench warrant was issued for him Dec. 21.

Silvey is set to be extradited back to Arkansas to face possible charges of theft of a vehicle valued at $5,000 or less but more than $1,000.
