JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) -

Life-changing money is at stake in the latest Powerball drawing and Arkansans are doing their best to cash in on the craze.

As of late Tuesday morning, the jackpot increased to $1.5 billion with a cash out option of $930 million.

Arkansas Scholarship Lottery Director Bishop Woosley says that although there were no jackpot winners Saturday, three Arkansas players in Bella Vista, Van Buren and Conway did win $50,000. Overall, 132,118 Arkansans won some money in the latest drawing.

The Natural State has done its best to help increase the overall jackpot. Numbers from ASL show $10.7 million in Powerball tickets were sold last week.

ASL reports selling $1.3 million in Powerball tickets on Monday alone. Woosley states this is the largest month for Powerball sales ever in Arkansas with over $13 million in tickets sold.

This current Powerball run, which started on Nov. 5, 2015, has so far contributed over $8 million to Arkansas scholarships, according to Woosley.

The next Powerball jackpot drawing will be Wednesday, Jan. 13 at 9:59 p.m.
