JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) -

A Bono man accused of sexually assaulting three young girls was sentenced Monday to three decades behind bars.

James Ray Griffin, 45, was sentenced to 30 years in the Arkansas Department of Corrections on one count of rape, according to Second Judicial District Prosecuting Attorney Scott Ellington.

Griffin was also sentenced to two terms of 15 years on two counts of sexual assault.

Ellington said the family of the victims agreed to the sentence, saying “they did not want to put the children through the trauma of testifying in court.”

Craighead County sheriff’s deputies arrested Griffin last May.
