Locals prepare to help in disaster relief efforts

WILSON, AR (KAIT) - Members of the Wilson First Baptist Church plan to help with disaster relief in central Arkansas.

Pastor Paul Huenefeld asked members of the congregation to help in Pine Bluff and Conway.

Huenefeld said he got an email from the Arkansas State Baptist Convention requesting the assistance.

They plan to help people whose homes are damaged.

Huenfeld said they might be a small church, but their members have big hearts.

"We're hoping we'll have three to five people not a ton of people but it's going to be exciting for us to be hands on involved in something like that," Huenfeld said.

The volunteers will be housed at the House of Hope in Pine Bluff for 3 to 5 days while they help in the flood related cleanup efforts.
