Neighbors nervous after two robberies in Jonesboro

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) -

Two recent robberies have some neighbors feeling unsafe in their neighborhoods.

Jonesboro police are investigating two robberies they suspect to be connected.

One robbery occurred at Big Al’s off Magnolia Street and the other happened at the Exxon on West Parker Road.

The suspects took off with a combined amount of around $900 from the two stores.

Dixie Hood and her grandson Cassin Hood live behind Big Al’s and they were shocked to hear something like this happened in their neighborhood.

“It is normally a quiet neighborhood. You wouldn't really expect something like that to happen around here in particular,” Cassin said. “Especially that gas station because really there is no traffic around there late at night.”

Cassin said he sometimes goes to the gas station later in the evening, but may think twice about it now.

“It is a little scary this is all happening that close to our house,” Dixie said.

The Hoods hope this is an isolated incident so they can feel safe in their neighborhood.
