JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - Craighead County sheriff's deputies acting on a tip removed more than $3,300 worth of meth from the streets.
After receiving information that 35-year-old David Bennerd Swanner of Jonesboro had a "large amount of methamphetamine Ice," deputies went to a home in the 1200-block of Despain Cove shortly after midnight Tuesday.
According to the initial incident report, Swanner was also wanted on an active warrant for absconding.
Swanner told deputies he was aware of the stipulations of his parole and consented to a search of his room and belongings, the report said.
During their search, investigators reported finding numerous baggies and a digital scale.
They also reportedly found a 24-ounce Pepsi bottle with a false compartment. Inside the bottle, according to the report, deputies found 34 grams of suspected methamphetamine valued at $3,300.
Investigators arrested Swanner and took him to the Craighead County Detention Center.
He is charged with possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine) greater than 10 grams but less than 200 grams. He was also charged with felony possession of drug paraphernalia and absconding.
