HARRISBURG, AR (KAIT) - A well-respected Harrisburg firefighter died Monday night due to heart problems.
Chris Greer was just 25 years old.
He was described as a key player at the fire department. Greer volunteered at the station for 7 years.
As his uniform remains hanging on the wall, sadness is felt at not only the station but all around the community.
Chief Danny Faulkner said he was "one of a kind" and would give the shirt off his back to help anyone.
Greer volunteered at the Harrisburg School District and the police department.
Faulkner said having to replace him will nearly be impossible.
"I know we are all volunteers," Faulkner said. "We all have to do a lot of different jobs and he was good at the ones he did. Somebody's going to have to step up and fill in for him and that's kind of hard to do."
Greer's family made funeral arrangements on Tuesday.
The fire department is planning a service to remember Greer, which will be held toward the end of the week.
