JPD investigating shoplifting from Walmart

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) -

Jonesboro police are investigating a robbery from Walmart, where both the man and woman responsible got away.

According to the incident report, an officer responded to the Walmart Supercenter, 1815 E. Highland Dr., around 5:33 p.m. Monday in reference to a shoplifting.

Dispatch told Officer Maurice Kinnard that a man and woman were both running east through the parking lot, toward Shoe Carnival.

The asset protection officer from Walmart lost sight of the suspects, but the report states they may have gotten into a red Dodge neon.

The asset protection officer told JPD officers that the man’s name was Robert Andres Jr.

He said that Andres had changed the ticket bar codes on two items so they would ring up as $.94 at the self-checkout.

Both of the items actually cost $40.31.

The officer tried to stop the suspects as they were leaving, but Andres and the officer began to wrestle before they ran away.

If you have any information about this incident, contact the Jonesboro Police Department.
