Pocahontas man jailed in connection to numerous break-ins, thefts

POCAHONTAS, AR (KAIT) -

An investigation into multiple car break-ins and thefts in the Pocahontas area landed one man in jail on numerous felony charges.

Tony Poindexter, 41, of Pocahontas, was charged with two counts of breaking and entering, two counts of possession of a firearm by certain persons and two counts of theft of property.

The break-ins and thefts happened in October and November.

Pocahontas Police Chief Cecil Tackett told Region 8 News that Poindexter's bond was initially set at $50,000 or $20,000 cash with an ankle bracelet monitoring device.

Further investigation landed Poindexter with additional charges and an additional bond though.

Chief Tackett said he faces additional counts of breaking or entering, theft of property, possession of a firearm by certain persons and possession of a schedule II controlled substance.

An additional bond of $20,000 cash only was set.

Poindexter is set to appear in Randolph County Circuit Court on March 7.
