FULTON COUNTY, KY (KAIT) - The Lawrence County Sheriff's Department confirmed to Region 8 News Donnie Owens was taken into custody Wednesday night.

Owens then tried to run but a "failed attempt to swim the Mississippi River" led to him being arrested.
Sheriff's deputies in Fulton County, KY caught Owens, according to White.
White said Owens evaded officers in Tennessee on Tuesday.
The sheriff's department had been in contact with authorities in Lake County, TN after the department received information that he was in the area. White states Owens was believed to be driving a silver 2005 Ford truck which he is accused of stealing after a fire he is also accused of setting.
The Lake County Sheriff's Department attempted to stop Owens early Tuesday after finding him driving the truck. Deputies chased Owens and he eventually wrecked the truck in a field.
Owens then ran to a house close to the crash site and stole an ATV which he used to get away from officers, according to White.
In addition to the latest crimes in Tennessee, Owens will face charges from the incidents that happened on Jan. 6.
The house near Lynn was destroyed by the fire.
Amanda Walley told Region 8 News her boyfriend, Owens, threw her down the hall and jumped on top of her.
Walley said she was able to escape Owens after her dog drew his attention away from her.
