BLYTHEVILLE, AR (KAIT) -

A Region 8 man was arrested by Blytheville police for domestic battery of his ex-girlfriend, according to the Blytheville Police Department.

Justin Mangum was arrested following an incident on Jan. 7.

According to Blytheville Police Captain Scott Adams, officers were called to the 2400-block of W. McHaney Dr. for a domestic battery call.

Police spoke with the victim who said former boyfriend, Mangum, was told to leave her home. The woman said Mangum was there to work on "relationship problems," according to Adams.

He reportedly did leave the home and the woman locked her doors.

At some point Mangum, according to the victim, forced the screen door open and kicked another door open.

The victim then told police Mangum got in the home and "grabbed her by the throat then dragged her to the bed room." She managed to get away and called police, Adams said.

Mangum was arrested at the scene and was taken to the Blytheville Police Department.

On Tuesday, Mangum appeared in district court on charges of residential burglary, domestic battery and criminal mischief. A temporary bond of $75,000 was set.

Mangum is to appear in circuit court on Feb. 25.
