Serious jackpot up for grabs, get POWERBALL numbers on Region 8 News at 10

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) -

It has never happened before and may never happen again. Someone could win millions in the Powerball lottery.

The numbers will be announced at 9:59 Wednesday night and a $1.5 billion jackpot is up for grabs. Stores across Region 8 have sold tens of thousands of dollars in lottery tickets.

The numbers will be announced on Region 8 News at 10.

This past Saturday night, no one won a $900 million jackpot, making the 19th drawing without a grand prize winner in the lottery’s history.

If someone wins the jackpot, they will not take home the full amount. The odds are there will be more than one winner and the tax bill will be substantial. Still, people across the country have purchased a ticket.

Across the country, retailers have sold more than $2.6 billion Powerball tickets since November, the last time a player hit the jackpot.

In Jonesboro, Kum & Go, 680 Southwest Drive, sold more than $14,500 worth of tickets. Other stores have reported similar earnings.
