POPLAR BLUFF, MO (KAIT) -

Authorities issuing warrants in Southeast Missouri also found a man with drugs and arrested him.

Stanley Preston Jones, 36, of Poplar Bluff was arrested on Wednesday, according to the Poplar Bluff Police Department.

Police officers, the SEMO Drug Task Force, Missouri State Highway Patrol and Butler County Sheriff's Department were serving warrants in the Poplar Bluff area.

An investigation led to the 200-block of Kaylee Circle where officers met Jones.

According to the police department, officers smelled a "strong odor of marijuana" coming from inside the home.

While speaking with officers, Jones reportedly admitted to smoking marijuana recently and allowed police to search his home for illegal substances.

Officers found a "felony amount of marijuana and marijuana candies" as well as "numerous items of drug paraphernalia," according to the police department.

Jones was booked on possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia charges.

He was released to his attorney pending lab analysis and review by the prosecuting attorney, police stated.
