BLYTHEVILLE, AR (KAIT) - UPDATE: Lyle Niederbrach, manager of Dogwood Community Water Association in Blytheville says the boil order has been lifted as of Wednesday, Jan. 27.
Jan. 19: As crews prepare to restore water service, the Arkansas Department of Health has issued a mandatory boil water order for those affected by the water outage.
Citizens in a Region 8 community have had a rough couple of days without water.
Lyle Niederbrach, manager of Dogwood Community Water Association in Blytheville, said water access has been shut off for some customers since Sunday because a water line under a railroad track had burst.
The line burst after a contractor for Burlington North hit the line, he said.
Niederbrach, who is also a customer without water, admitted it has been difficult.
Because the water line was hit by an outside company along with it being under the railroad track, it made it more difficult to get fixed in a timely manner.
Niederbrach said crews were working to repair the line and hope it will be functional by Tuesday afternoon.
