Restaurant workers accused of stealing tips

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - Jonesboro police are investigating two cases of restaurant workers accused of stealing tips from customers.

The district manager for Buffalo Wild Wings, 1503 Red Wolf, reported to police Thursday that a named server "had stolen money from several customers."

According to the incident report, the suspect altered the amount of the tip left by customers by "adding a one in front of the amount and $10 to the total."

The manager provided several copies of receipts where approximately 57 tip amounts had been changed to a higher amount. The total amount the suspect took, according to the report, was approximately $500.

At the time of the report no victims had been identified and no one has contacted the Jonesboro Police Department.

Also on Thursday the manager of Pizza Hut, 900 S. Caraway, reported a customer called him to report that $4 had been added as a tip to their bill.

When confronted, the named suspect admitted to adding the amount to the tip line and keeping the money, the report stated.

Copies of the receipt and statement from the suspect were placed in evidence.

The victim told police she was "not interested at this time" in pressing charges.
