Guilty plea in Jonesboro shooting

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - A Jonesboro man was sentenced to three decades in prison for shooting a man last summer.

Prosecuting Attorney Scott Ellington tells Region 8 News Nicholas Coleman pled guilty to battery in the first degree in court Monday.  Judge Cindy Thyer sentenced him to 30 years in prison.

Coleman shot Prince Gibson last June at the Citgo station at 1715 East Johnson. According to the report filed at the time, Gibson told officers he confronted Coleman about "messing with his wife".

That led to an altercation where Coleman then pulled out a revolver and shot Gibson twice at the fuel pumps.
