PARAGOULD, AR (KAIT) - "Please, don't take my mom to jail for biting me."
That's what Paragould police say an 8-year-old girl begged them as they arrested her mother on suspicion of domestic battery.
On Friday, Jan. 22, officers were called to a home in the 900-block of Park Street.
The male victim told police he and his girlfriend, 34-year-old Vanessa Lynn Clark, had been fighting.
According to the affidavit, the victim had "deep scratches on his face and upper body that were bleeding."
The victim said Clark had inflicted the wounds during their argument.
At that time Clark's 8-year-old daughter approached one of the officers and begged him, "Please, don't take my mom to jail for biting me."
Corporal Brian Smith observed the child "had a perfect bite impression, showing upper and lower teeth marks, on [her] cheek," the court documents stated.
Clark reportedly had no signs of injury. However, according to the affidavit, she was "very intoxicated."
Police arrested and took Clark to the Greene County Detention Center.
She is charged with one count of domestic battering in the second degree and one count of domestic battering in the third degree.
