Fake tags lead to real drug arrests

LEPANTO, AR (KAIT) -

A traffic stop led to the arrest of three Region 8 men after police say they found drugs in their vehicle.

According to a Lepanto Police Department press release, officers stopped a car Monday night for fake tags.

After receiving consent to search the vehicle, police reportedly located six grams of mmethamphetamine and Xanax pills in the gas cap.

Officers arrested Dustin Brawley, 22; Bradley Jones, 35; and Michael Jones, 58, all of Lepanto on the following charges:

 Dustin Brawley:

  • Fictitious tags
  • Driving on suspended drivers license
  • Possession of methamphetamine
  • Possession of prescription drugs without a prescription
  • Possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver
  • Tampering with evidence
  • Illegal use of communication device

Bradley Jones:

  • Possession of methamphetamine
  • Possession of prescription drugs without a prescription
  • Possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver
  • Tampering with evidence

Michael Jones:

  • Possession of ethamphetamine
  • Possession of prescription drugs without a prescription
  • Possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver

On Tuesday Poinsett County District Court Judge Ron Hunter set Brawley's bond at $10,000. He released the Joneses on their own recognizance.

Brawley was also charged on a separate incident with possession of methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver, possession of prescription drugs without a prescription, and possession of drugs with intent to deliver.

Hunter set his bond at $150,000 for those additional charges.
