RIPLEY COUNTY, MO (KAIT) - An accident in Missouri hurt three people from Region 8, two of them so serious they had to be airlifted to a hospital Thursday afternoon.
According to a crash report by the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Michael E. Stubbs, 52, was driving a 1990 Chevy Blazer south on Route Y about 4 miles north of Doniphan.
Police say the vehicle went off the road, overcorrected and overturned.
Stubbs and one of the passengers, Deborah Garner, 50, were seriously hurt in the crash.
The report stated the two were airlifted to St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
Richard Garner, 50, was also riding in the car and received moderate injuries.
An ambulance took him to the Southeast Healthcare Center of Ripley County to be treated.
Police said Stubbs was wearing a seat belt, but the other two were not. All three are from Doniphan.
The vehicle was totaled.
