Driver who hit 8-year-old on bike wanted by police

KENNETT, MO (KAIT) - The Kennett Police Department is looking for a driver who hit a child on a bicycle Saturday night.

The department stated in a Facebook post that police arrived to an 8-year-old girl who said she was hit by a small white car just before 8 p.m.

The girl told police the car ran a stop sign at the intersection of North Walnut and Clipper Street and hit her back tire.

Police said she was thrown from the bike and received minor injuries.

A witness told police the vehicle was a small 2-door white car with a loud exhaust and a wing on the back. It was last scene driving west on Clipper Street.
