JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) -

A woman leaving a Jonesboro gym got more of a workout than she expected when a man came running up to her car and tried to get in.

The 23-year-old victim told police she was leaving Imperfit, 124 S. Main, around 8:30 Monday night when she saw a “dark skinned” man wearing a yellow jacket running toward her.

The woman quickly “jumped into her car and locked the doors,” the initial incident report stated.

She said the man then tried to open the door by pulling on the handle.

The victim told Officer Blake Easley she began to back up and realized she was about to hit a wall by the gym.

At that point, she said the man “stepped around in front of her car as if he thought she would stop,” the report stated.

As the victim eased her car forward, the man finally turned and ran east on Cate Street.

She described the man as being in his early 20s wearing a jacket that appeared to be too big for him.

The woman said the man never touched her or said anything to her.

She stated she was not sure what he wanted.
