Second pawn shop finds hole in concrete wall

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - A second Region 8 pawn shop found a hole in the back of its building Tuesday.

The first shop was broken into early Sunday morning at Gee Street Pawn Shop.

Then Tuesday morning police responded to a second pawn shop for a similar incident.

Workers at Totem Pole Pawn Shop, 2415 N. Culberhouse, found a small hole in the concrete wall of the building.

This hole was smaller than the one made at Gee Street Pawn Shop, 1101 S. Gee.

Totem Pole Pawn Shop employees also noticed new tire tracks behind the store.

Although there are similarities in the two incidents, police say it is still too early to know if it is the same suspect.

"Obviously there are only so many ways to attack a building so they may seem similar but we don't know exactly at this early stage what exactly the similarities or differences there may be," said Paul Holmes, public information specialist for the Jonesboro Police Department.

If anyone has any information about the attempted break-ins contact Crimestoppers at 935-STOP (7867).
