JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) -

Craighead County sheriff’s deputies are searching for a man in connection to a Tuesday night shooting.

According to Craighead County Sheriff Marty Boyd, one man shot his brother at 270 County Road 458.

The sheriff’s department received the call of a suspicious person around 5:37 p.m. Tuesday and then got another call around 5:50 p.m. of shots fired.

According to the initial incident report, 26-year-old Samuel Dontae Sinclair is suspected of shooting his brother, 29-year-old Demarcus Sinclair, in the leg.

Deputy Matt Kirby applied a tourniquet to the victim's leg before he was taken by ambulance to a local hospital.

Deputies are now searching for Samuel Sinclair.

He was last seen walking down County Road 476 wearing camouflage overalls with a black cap or dew rag. Deputies say he is armed with a Nylon 66 .22 caliber rifle and should be considered dangerous.

Region 8 News spoke with neighbors in the area and many were shocked to hear of the shooting.

"My wife got it on Facebook from one of our neighbors and it just kind of surprised us because nothing like that usually happens out here," George Green said.

Green said the only incidents that have happened before are minor thefts.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts is urged to call the sheriff's office at (870) 935-5553 or Crimestoppers at (870) 935-STOP (7867).
