LAWRENCE COUNTY, AR (KAIT) -

The Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department made four separate arrests in just two days.

According to a press release from the department, deputies were called to a residence Monday in reference to a domestic dispute.

Deputies found Brian Becktell, 53, of Powhatan and a female victim who had just had an altercation.

Becktell, who was intoxicated at the time, allegedly choked and struck the victim several times.

He was later arrested for aggravated assault, terroristic threatening, and domestic battery.

Becktell is now being held in the Lawrence County Jail awaiting a bond hearing.

In an unrelated case, Derrick Effinger, 33, and April Polatty, 21, both of Imboden were also arrested Tuesday after a search warrant was executed at their residence.

According to deputies, several items of drug paraphernalia and controlled substances were found at the home.

Both Effinger and Polatty are being held at the Lawrence County Jail awaiting a bond hearing for possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

In another unrelated case, Veronica Bradley, 32, of Imboden was arrested on charges of first-degree forgery.

According to the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department, they received a call of a female at the Imboden Pharmacy attempting to fill an altered prescription.
