After loss in Iowa, Trump blames Cruz for Obamacare

LITTLE ROCK, AR (CNN) - Donald Trump may have been grasping for straws in Arkansas today when he said "Cruz gave us Obamacare."

Coming fresh off a second-place finish in Iowa, Trump told supporters a rally in Little Rock, Arkansas, that Sen. Ted Cruz, who won the Iowa caucuses, was in part responsible for Obamacare.

"By the way, this guy Ted Cruz...you talk about liars," he said. "Listen to this: he goes out and he says, 'Donald Trump loves Obamacare.' I've been fighting this thing for four or five years. He's the one that got [Supreme Court Justice John Roberts] on to the United States Supreme Court. He pushed him. He approved him, and Justice Roberts approved Obamacare twice when it should've been rejected. His vote got it over the top. Ted Cruz did that. Ted Cruz gave us Obamacare. Believe me."

However, Cruz was not yet in the Senate when Roberts was confirmed in 2005. He did voice his support publicly for the justice when he was nominated.

The freshman senator criticized Roberts for his decision in the Obamacare rulings.

The talks, which ended Saturday with the issuance of a joint statement, may have helped to ease tensions at least slightly between the world's two biggest economic powers.
