JACKSON COUNTY, AR (KAIT) - The Jackson County Sheriff's Office is searching for a man who led deputies on a high-speed chase before driving his truck into a body of water.
When a deputy tried to stop him Wednesday, Jeremy Wayne Conway sped away, according to Lt. Ricky Morales.
During the chase down County Road 16, Conway left the roadway and his truck plunged into water.
Morales said deputies managed to "get to the truck" but there was no sign of Conway.
Deputies searched the area until 2 a.m. Thursday then resumed their search after daybreak.
Deputies are searching for Conway on four wheelers, boat and foot. Arkansas State Police have also been searching by air.
Sheriff David Lucas said the most important thing is to find Conway.
"The warrant is secondary to me I just want to make sure he is safe, make sure he is okay and then we can work the rest of it out. We just need to know he is alright," Lucas said.
Conway's family has not heard from him since before the chase.
Family and neighbors has also helped in the search.
If anyone has seen or heard from Conway, they are urged to notify the Jackson County Sheriff's Office at (870) 523-5842.
