JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) -

Emergency crews responded to a fully involved house fire in Manila Thursday evening.

It happened at 881 County Road 49.

Manila Fire Chief Tracey Reinhart, nobody was at home at the time of the fire.

Chief Reinhart said the homeowner’s son lives next door and called the fire department when he saw the fire.

The Caraway Fire Department was called in to help Manila battle the fully engulfed fire.

It took them two hours to put the fire out.

Reinhart said they believe it started in the kitchen and moved into the attic.

He also advised citizens to try and find an alternate route while crews are battling fires like this. He said he understands people get curious when they see smoke, but they can help responders by avoiding the area.
