WALNUT RIDGE, AR (KAIT) - The Walnut Ridge Planning and Rezoning Commission held a public hearing Thursday.
Mayor Charles Snapp said commission members decided whether or not they would rezone property at West Elm Street and southwest Fourth Street.
The goal was to turn it from residential to commercial.
Mayor Snapp said the motion to rezone passed unanimously with all members of the commission present.
The rezoning will allow the plans for the new county jail to continue.
