JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) -

The College of Business at Arkansas State University will relaunch its Career Closet program next week to help students who are searching for a job.

An event will be held Friday, Feb. 12 at 12:30 p.m. in front of the business building as the program is relaunched. Donations of new or slightly used, business-professional clothing and accessories will be accepted.

All items that are donated but don’t meet the business criteria will be donated to Goodwill.

“The COB Career Closet loan program is one way we help prepare students for success,” H. Steve Leslie, an instructor of business communication, said. “We are working to assure all our students, especially those who are not able to afford appropriate business professional clothing, have access to business attire.”

The program began in 2014. Students can choose clothes from the closet to attend professional meetings, interviews and other business related events.

Leslie said that interested students would have access to clothing from the Career Closet after meeting some specific criteria.

A student must have his or her resume proofread and approved by A-State Career Services and attend at least two of the workshops during the semester in which they request clothing.

The workshops include interviewing, resume building, job search, employer presentations and the Career Services’ job fair.

For more information about this program, contact Leslie at 870-972-3430 or by email at sleslie@astate.edu
