SIKESTON, MO (KAIT) -

Sikeston police are investigating after a man was accused of videoing another man, without his permission, while he was using the bathroom.

According to a post on their Facebook page, the Sikeston Department of Public Safety responded to the YMCA on Jan. 31.

An 18-year-old man told officers that he had been working out in the gym and had just talked to 19-year-old Earl A. Madison before going into the bathroom.

The man said Madison followed him into the bathroom. He went on to say that he looked up to see a cellphone videoing him while he was standing in a stall, going to the bathroom.

Police say Madison was a part-time YMCA employee, but was off duty at the time of the incident.

He was arrested shortly after it happened. During the interview with officers, Madison gave them permission to search his phone.

Several videos were found of men in various stages of undress.

Madison later admitted to investigators that he had videotaped men in the locker room over the past year of working at the YMCA, according to the department’s post.

The men were all close to the same age as Madison.

The Scott County 33rd Judicial Court charged Madison with three counts of invasion of privacy in the first degree on Feb. 1. He was given a bond of $15,000.

The Sikeston Department of Public Safety seized all of Madison’s electronic devices and they will be forensically searched.

They expect the investigation will take months to complete. The YMCA is cooperating with police.

During the interview, Madison also admitted to similar incidents when he attended college in a different state, but police did not release what college or state that was. They said a joint investigation will be done with that jurisdiction.

All victims will be notified as soon as possible by investigators.

The department is asking anyone with information about similar incidents involving Madison to contact Sikeston DPS at 573-471-4711.
