Sheryl Crow returns home, helps teachers

KENNETT, MO (KAIT) - The hometown of Sheryl Crow got a major surprise as part of a new segment with the TODAY Show.

Kennett High School was seen on the NBC show Monday morning as the nine-time Grammy winner kicked off the "Show Heart" segment.

Students and faculty were led to believe a pep rally was taking place, but Crow had a surprise for the assembly.

The artist and member of the class of 1980 presented several checks for the high school teachers on behalf of Farmers Insurance and Adopt-A-Classroom.

Those checks for $600 will allow teachers to buy supplies for their classrooms.
