CRAIGHEAD COUNTY, AR (KAIT) - A Region 8 man was arrested after deputies say they discovered drug paraphernalia in his bedroom.
According to a Craighead County Sheriff's Department incident report, deputies were called to County Road 353 in Bono around 10:30 p.m. Sunday after a woman complained about someone shooting in the area.
After speaking to the witness, they learned that a white man wearing a camouflage jacket was riding a bicycle in the middle of the road carrying a long firearm.
After searching the area and finding no one matching the description, one of the deputies said it was "probably Kevin Qualls."
According to the report, the 32-year-old Qualls lives just north of the scene on CR 376.
When deputies went to his address, they found Qualls walking toward his house wearing the same jacket that the witness described.
Qualls reportedly said he shot his firearm at a stick in his yard earlier that afternoon but he denied riding his bike while carrying his gun.
When Deputy Jeff Franks did a probation search of Qualls' room, he found a .22 caliber rifle hanging on the wall. In the corner of the room, Franks reportedly found small baggies, syringes and burnt aluminum foil.
Qualls was taken to the Craighead County Detention Center and charged with felon in possession of a firearm and possession of drug paraphernalia.
