WALNUT RIDGE, AR (KAIT) -

The owner of a building along Highway 67 in Walnut Ridge has until May to get his property cleaned up.

According to Mayor Charles Snapp, J.R. Rogers has until May 1 to repair or fix the property. If he doesn't, it will go before the city council.

At that point, the building will go into the next steps of condemnation.

According to Snapp, Rogers also owns another building downtown that is reportedly in disrepair.

The mayor said although the building is not up for condemnation right now, they are looking into barricading sections that may fall in.

Snapp told Region 8 News that it is difficult to take action on the building because there are two other owners in it and nothing separates each business.
