BATESVILLE, AR (KAIT) - Batesville police have taken to Facebook to warn people against the use of synthetic marijuana.

According to Chief Alan Cockrill, the synthetic drug is known as "posh" or "K2".

Cockrill said it has been an increasing problem over the past few years.

The Batesville Police Department stated in the post that the synthetic version of marijuana is "very dangerous and unpredictable."

They stated it can be made using harmful chemicals that can vary in amount.

BPD stated over the weekend, the community had "at least three medical emergencies because of the use of synthetic marijuana, including one death."

They encourage anyone to avoid coming in contact with it to prevent the risk of death.
