MALDEN, MO - A Van Buren man arrested on a charge of leaving the scene of a fatal accident is considered a "person of interest" in Sunday's shooting death of a state trooper.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says Sergeant Carl Dewayne Graham initially investigated the November crash for which the 28-year-old was arrested.

The patrol said information gathered in the investigation of Graham's death led to the man's arrest for leaving the scene of the fatal crash in Carter County.

The 37-year-old Graham was found shot to death in front of his rural southeast Missouri home Sunday afternoon.

Graham's funeral is today at the First Baptist Church in Dexter, with burial at the Stanfield Cemetery south of Clarkton.
