JONESBORO, AR - An Arkansas State University instructor is the 2005 recipient of the Outstanding Individual Leadership Award from the Governor's Council on Fitness.

Each year, the Council recognizes the individuals and companies whose efforts have positively affected the health and fitness of Arkansans.  Dr. Blair Dean of ASU is described by the Council as "A learned scholar, mentor, friend to co-workers, and devoted mother."

"Whether it be developing educational curriculum, counseling a young educator during their student teaching internship, hosting a 5K fun run or leading an exercise class at a local nursing home, I am grateful for every opportunity I have to make physical fitness a part of the life of every person I know," said Dean.
